Doll Faces

We went out to play at the playground this afternoon and I captured these images of the kids to practice some of the new ideas I learned at photography school this past week. Such sweet faces on these dolls, my children.

A DJH Original

I just got home this afternoon from spending a week at an international photography school with 995 other professional photographers. I was in a class with 30 photographers studying the nuances and intricacies of creating fine art family portraiture wall decor. My instructor was a highly-lauded portrait artist from British Columbia who blew us all away with the things he taught us to see and the way he taught us to shape and mould light in our photography. WOW! I am so excited and amazed coming home from that experience.

The above portrait of myself was created by my new buddy Douglas, a photographer from Hawaii who was my fast friend and kindred spirit this week. To my friend who worked with me with great patience and tenderness to create a portrait from the heart, Mahalo , Douglas. Aloha pumehana mau loa.
